Is it legal to put a big barge in international waters and grow pot on it?
legal
italiandudeinchicago82 asked:

Since international waters don’t abide by countries laws could someone put a big barge in international waters and grow pot on it? Would that be legal? Would there be any repurcussions? How far are international waters off the coast of the US?

12 miles out is where US waters end and no it wouldn’t be illegal but once you enter US waters you will be arrested.

    you would lose money

the price of high quality marijuana would not cover the cost of running such a operation.

Somehow you would have to get it out of the U.S. boundaries (12 miles from each border) before you would have it on international waters so it would be illegal to get it out.

Pure genius! — As not to break any laws, the customers would have to come to you. Install a helipad, and make money by flying them in by chopper or by boat. They can rent rooms, like a cruise ship. The possibilities are endless. And don’t forget the gift shop! Even the Vatican has a gift shop.

It may be international waters BUT, someone has jurisdiction over over every square inch of the planet. It just depends on whose inch your in.

Damn, you got a lot of free time on your hands today. It will still be against the law. After you grow it, Im sure your gonna to try and sell it, right? So after its grown, you would ride in your boat to pick it up and get pop for transporting drugs, because the coast guard will catch you dummy. You already knew the answer to this dum question. Leave the drugs alone and get a another hobby.

When a vessel is in international waters it is subject to the laws of the country it is registered in. I doubt very seriousy you could find a country that would register a vessal under those conditions. Even if you did you still have to get it to the people who want it and your back to square one.
