Is there a legal way to hack somebodies wireless internet connection?
~beth~ ily Amber Louise my cuzin asked:
I have a great connection around my area and the one i use sucks. Is there a legal way to hack the internet connection? Its called flash and it is security enabled network. Thank You.
Find out who pays for the signal, and see if they will let you use it.
There is no legal way to get free wireless internet, especially if you want to “hack” into the network. You can get into a world of trouble for doing this, so I don’t advise it.
EDIT:
Some of the answers you’re getting are misleading. You cannot get on someone else’s network by buying your own router and configuring it without having a hard wire connection to their router. You can use a wireless bridge, but again, its illegal.
Even if they have no password, it is still illegal.
If tehy do have a password, there are programs out there that run under linux, several of which I regularaly use on my own network, that will “sniff” the packets of information and map the network out. Eventually they can decipher the router password, and allow you to automatically conenct to the network. Doing this is illegal as well, so I don’t suggest that either.
The best bet is to talk to the person, see if they will hook you up, and you’ll be good to go.
If you are going to use this connection then this would be a case of cracking which is totaly illegal But if you just break into this system then its called hacking provided you do no harm and just for the sake of knowledge.
SO there is no way that YOU use the connection for free by hacking and for free
Whether you like it or not, hacking someone else’s wireless network without their consent beforehand is highly illegal and considered both invasion of privacy and stealing.
However, I’ve provided a useful link for educational purposes only.
If you’re really that intent of getting a better wireless signal in your own home, I highly recommend grabbing a next-generation wireless router, such as a Netgear DGN2000. Something with 802.11n technology should be perfect for almost any conventional use.
There would be nothing legal about it unless you asked the person who’s paying for the connection for their permission to use it.
Just like if you were paying for the connection and random people just started using it, you’d be pretty pissed off if your connection started running slower because other people were using it who didn’t ask.
Maybe you should figure out who’s connection it is and offer to pay them a certain amount per month to be able to use said connection. If it is security enabled, they obviously don’t want anyone else using it without their permission.
In simple terms, no it’s not legal to “hack” into someones internet connection.
If you lived in Maryland, like I do…No one could stop you from doing it. They’ve passed a law where it’s completely legal for someone to sit outside of your house and leech off of your net connection.
There are plenty of ways to do it illegally, which I will not suggest.
If you are using someone’s connection without their permission it is illegal. Period. That said, it’s also security enabled so without the key you can’t access it anyway.
The only legal way is to ask their permission. Go to your neighbor’s house, tell them that you would pay half the fee and get the authentication.
Or, subscribe to the same ISP.
There is no legality in hacking someones internet connection, but i will give u a tip, get a wireless router then configue it. it will bring you the I.P address then you can disable the security.
there is no legal way to do that unless it’s your own… maybe practice on one you own then give it a try
not that i know of
