What is the legal recovery time between shifts in New York?

My friend has been scheduled to work 7pm-1am, and then back to work for a 6am-12pm shift. Is it legal for them to schedule her to come back 5 hours later? By the time she gets home, then has to get up to get ready to go back, she’ll end up only getting approximately 3 hours of sleep.

That sucks and is probably illegal. She should steal everything from them she could lay hands to.
It’s legal. As long as they pay her thats the only law.
I think that as long as she is not in a regulated industry (airline pilots, nurses, etc) and not part of a union, this is perfectly legal.
if its a job that doesn’t require driving as part of the job there probally isnt a recovery. if you drive as part of your job you can’t work more than 16 hrs. you need at least 8 hrs off between shifts
