What official or legal body can stop a politician from lying during a campaign?

What official or legal entity can order them to stop lying? Must it come to a slander lawsuit?
It’s supposed to be the media. But we all know where that leans.
Nothing, barring slander lawsuit. That’s why both sides lie all the time. The debates were full of lies by both sides. It’s come to who can lie, exagerate, and distort the most.
There is no law against lying during a political campaign. Most of the time these ‘lies’ have a tiny grain of truth to them but they are doctored up to sound like something else totally different. Fortunately there are organizations which research candates’ statements and give us the truth, such as factcheck.com.

but as far as lying about policies and opponents pasts actions theres nothing any1 can do
